Wiper residue

Hello,
Has anyone been able to find a way in preventing the passenger side wiper from leaving a line of wiper residue on the windshield. I have tried wiping water and vinger on the wiper blade but still the line comes back.

Thanks in advance!

Right idea, wrong pH: Use a folded paper towel wetted with clear ammonia. Don't just wipe the edge; pinch the blade between the folds of the paper towel and draw down the length with moderate pressure, as a knife sharpener would shape a blade. Repeat with fresh areas of the paper towel until little to no black residue comes off the blade.

If a thorough cleaning doesn't fix it, you probably have a miniscule nick in the blade.
