Engine bay plug, what is it?

Someone please tell me what these plugs are????

I was removing an after market alarm from my 85 735 which were wrapped around the wires in the picture. When I attempted to disconnect these plugs to sort out the birds nest, the plugs disintegrated in my hands.
It fell apart so fast I didn't have a chance to observe the connections so I could possibly just hardwire them together without the plugs.

Are these plugs available? The wires seem to be shielded, not sure if they can by spliced back together without the plugs, even if I did know the arrangement.

Obviously, my car will not start...

Definitely available; look here at items 1 and 2 -- http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...92&hg=12&fg=31

I'm in the process of replacing a bunch in my 750 putting new boots on and refreshing the heat shrink around the wires.
