Blower motor quit working

The fuses are all good and my digital controls all seem to be working but my motor just doesn't turn on. Is there anything to look for before I fork out the money on a new blower? Also will the blower out of a 4 door work in a 2 door?

I think the blower motors are interchangeable between all body styles, but verify the part number on RealOEM.com beforehand. Also, you can run a jumper to test your blower motor without having to replace it. You may just need a relay or final stage unit.

It seems lie a relay. Because my motor has never squeaked or showed any signs of failure. All of a sudden it stopped working. So I wouldn't think it's the motor. And is there a way to test the FSU?

Failure mode for the FSU is usually the fan defaulting to full speed continuously regardless of where the switch is set above "off". Probably not the FSU.

I think it varies a bit. When my FSU died, sometimes it would blow on max when I had the speed set to low, and other times the blower motor wouldn't run at all despite being set to max. I was under the impression that it's the earlier OBD1 cars with resistors and not FSUs that the fan speed defaults to max when the part dies. But anyway, I'd check your relay and blower motor before buying anything.

I fixed it. My relay was "stuck" so I tapped it and I'm all good. For now.

Yeah, they can need a little "waking up" every now and again.

where is the relay for the blower motor located, I am having the same problem where my fan only blows on high. I have spend 3 hrs taking apart the dash looking for the FSU on the passenger side and it not being there and now i could not find the resistor on the driver side. ready to set the whole car on fire.

Mo, I'll give you a dollar for it and take it off your property rather than you burning it.

The relay is #9 in this diagram:

It's the final stage resistor gone bad. Just like you were told in the other thread you posed the same question (don't do that, please)
