Key

I have only one key, black head with an S in it. I read the posts and went to the dealership with my license and registration in hand. $50.00 ordered. Now my question? I see blank keys on ebay for under $10 do they work and will anyone cut the key? I just hate to pay $50 for a key especially with no chip or light or anything in it!

Is the black end round or rectangular ? I think the round one might be for a model earlier than your car but I'm not sure. You can have a key made for an E30 at any locksmith if you have your key.

When I had my accord, it had a chip in it and Lowe's did it for 30 bucks.
Try them, they'll probably copy your key for less since it doesn't have a chip.
EDIT: I didn't even have any blank ones to take to them, they gave me new keys alltogether

That is total crap. It takes nothing special at ALL to cut an E30 key. They heard "BMW" and their minds went blank. Idiots.

THAT'S more like it. We got keys made for the '85 and '87 E30s, and both my E24s at ACE hardware for $2 each.

I recently bought this key off of ebay for 7.99.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/160664839260...84.m1439.l2649

I had it cut at my local locksmith for 4 bucks and it works like a charm.
