Remote Start for E30

Hey guys! thinking of setting myself a project to do over the holidays for the rainy days (the fine days im going to be putting my new head on), and am thinking remote start would be cool. I know how to go about it in theory, in terms of transmitting the signal etc etc, but how to actually start it im not sure about. Any ideas? the starting time for the car is always the same (as you guys will have noticed) unless its a really cold morning, so if i got the pulse (imitating the key turn) to be for a set time before turning off (so it assumes the car has started, which it more often than not will have) it would go? how about tricking the car so it thinks it is in the ON position? any ideas helpfull. I will probably post on an Electronics Forum as well...

+1 You'll find your car stuck in the back of the garage one morning.

If you have an auto and want to do this, you should get yourself a remote start/lock/alarm setup kit. They have some pretty good ones on ebay.
