God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

Exclamation 91 bmw 325, NOISE PROBLEM, VIDEO INCLUDED

Timing belt broke causing valves to bend. I had the machine shop fix the head. I put a new timing belt on and adjusted the valves. heres the result

I think there's a valve that wasn't replaced correctly

take a listen,

How did you adjust your valves Hot or Cold? Are you getting oil through the squirter line above the rockers ?Did the shop check the valve springs ?

I adjusted the valves when cold, I'm pretty sure oil is getting to through the line. But the machine shop only replaced the valves and rocker arm, not the springs or anything else. Could a spring be the cause of the noise?

I don't think so. If you adjusted your valves to specs, you should be able to rotate the engine three times and come up with the same tension between the valves and rocker arm eccentric with the camshaft and crankshaft in proper alignment. To me it sounds like loose valves or low lubrication.

You need to adjust the valves cold then warm the motor up to operating temp and adjust them hot/warm (0.010 cold and 0.012 hot) also you can take the squirter tube off and blow some air through it to make sure all the holes are opened up,sorry I didn't look at this sooner Christmas and all you know.
