for the silver 320i it looks like your tires are mounted incorrectly. the groves are slanting in the same direction. I have always been under the impression that tires should be mirror images of one another.

DAMN that is a gorgeous car!!!

Sounds like a great car. How long have you had it? Do you have a good mechanic to check out the problem?

No but have read some good reviews about a guy not far from here that I plan on taking it to In a couple days. I'm gonna put a new fuel filter in it tomorrow and see if that helps, if not it's going to him.

Nice to hear from older BMW lovers.

New to the forum. I roll in an 81 320i. I have had it a few months and slowly retoring it. Enjoy the ride...

Welcome to the forum, esp. the E21 sub-forum.

I miss my 1982 320iS quite a bit.

An impressive list of cars you hve or haved owned.

I came into the Bimmer experience very uneducated. When I saw the pictures of the car that I have now, I fell in love with it. I had actually looked at a slightly newer model (very rough inside and out) a few months earlier and I told myself that I would like to own a bmw in that era if I ever bought one because I am "old school" and a purest at heart. I did no research and I found out later that the owner misrepresented the condition of the motor and I probably paid to much. I just drove it and loved the experience. I have managed to plug up the leaks a repair the major problems with a couple of issues yet to address. But despite it all, I believe I was meant to own that car and I always enjoy the ride!!! Thanks for reaching out!

Well after 2 years off the road, my E21 is back and I'm fired up.

She's pretty rough on the outside but runs great for a 32 year old car with 200K on it.

A simple, well made car

I have had mine for nearly 6 months and I have made some repairs with a clutch replacement to come in the spring. I have one issue I have been baffled with all summer. I do not think my mechanic knows where to turn now. From a cold start it will barely idle until the engine reaches a certain temperature before it then runs beautifully. We have replaced, has been replaced or components that would cause this issue are working properly. Love my ride as well!!

Just which components did you replace? Was the coolant temperature sensor one of them?

Thanks for thanks for reply. the temperature sensei

checked okay.We smoke tested it for vacumm leaks, checked fuel pressures
And residual pressure. Both checked okay. Replace thermal temperature switch and there was no improvement. Cold start injector is getting voltage. Pulse valve tested good. Warm up regulator is getting voltage tested good. The only thing he found was that the fuel distributor actuator is leaking and will need to be replaced. Since the engine runs great after it warms up,I do not think this is the source of my problem but will replace the fuel distributor soon. Thanks. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
