BMW 325i e93 MY07 vs MY08?

I'm looking at a BMW 325i e93 with a manufacture date of Aug 2007, but the vendor (which is a BMW reseller) assures me that it is a MY08, although these should have been manufactured from September.
Looking in Redbook.com there is a lot of difference in the valuation between a MY07 and MY08, but could anyone tell me what changed?
Is there anyway to check what the Model year is myself?

Many thanks, Matt

stay with MY08 if possible or earlier.

Yes, but is there a way to tell except the manufacturing date? Could some MY08 have a manufacturing date of August 2007 or is the vendor telling me BS?

BMW on the E9x switched model years in august typically so it is possible it was one of the first 2008's built - only way to know for sure is to decode the VIN

Manual way http://www.bmwarchiv.de/vin/
automatic way http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/eng/

Don't know about down under but US cars have a sticker at the base of the B pillar with the date of manufacture.
