E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

Control iPod through dashboard controls. Is it possible?

Hi,

As the title suggests is there any way to achieve this by only having an aux input (no USB) on a 118d (E87), non I-drive BMW? I just want to be able change tracks on my iPod through the dashboard controls and if its possible the steering wheel too. Right now I have to keep changing tracks on the iPod itself and this gets annoying after a while!

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks.

You can retrofit Combox (which gives the car USB + Aux) and that oughta work. But it's expensive.

How much? I've no idea where to even start looking. Thought there might have been a simple solution!

This is not at all a simple solution.

I woudl check and see if there is an Ipod integration kit like DICE. That is your bet option.
