color matched my wheels

hey all, an update on my wheels and spacers. bought a set of h & r and a set of generics . they both rode the same, so i ended up getting another set of generics for the front. i sold the h& r and other than the color , cannot notice any differences. you can see the spacers through the wheel spokes and the hr was a primer gray and the generics were polished alum. so i ditched the hr's. they are 15's on the back and 12's on the front. no rub issues. but then again, they are only 20s. after buying them, i decided that the black looked kinda dirty , so i had the black portions of the wheel color matched to alpine white. hmmm just tried to attach before and after , but they are bmp files and not jpeg. im not very good with computers, so ill upload some when i figure out how.

You ditched German Engineering in H&R and went for generics on a 6 series?

PS. H&R Spacers are hubcentric and are guaranteed not to vibrate.

yup. i normally like german engineered items, but how can one engineer what basically amounts to a block of metal? after checking out both pieces , i feel like any machine shop in either country can make this, a lathe or router in the us could be the identical router used in germany. the generics are also hubcentric and both are supposedly gaurenteed not to vibrate. i get the same very slight vibration at certain speeds with either set of spacers and even so without spacers , making me think that the wheels are to blame. anybody have a good program to convert png files to jpeg? ill post pics.

just noticed you also have cls55. i just got rid of mine for this 650i. i wanted a convertible. and loved my wifes 328i coupe , so i decided to defect to bmw. my cls would walk all over the 6, but it was a brute, very loud and the power delivery was like a freight train rather than smooth. the 6 is alot quieter and smoother. even though the cls was a 4 door, the head room and rear openings were a pita to get my 3 year old in and out of . just my thoughts on the two, interesting to find someone else who can compare the two. having owned them both, i feel like i can make a fair assesment on both. so many benz guys were telling me not to make the switch and they never logged more than a few miles in a 6, if any.

Do you use Windows XP or Windows 7? If you can see the file in your My Pictures, just right click on it and left click on EDIT. It should open it in Windows Paint program that is loaded with Windows Accessories. Once you are there, just left click on FILE at the top, then SAVE AS, once you are there go to the bottom of that dialog box. You will see a drop down arrow under SAVE AS TYPE, just select JPEG.

Thanks, they were relatively cheap. XIX is the brand. They are staggered with stainless lips . They only come in black and polish combo . Of course , I changed that.

If you want those wheels ,
You're gonna need spacers and some longer studs .

What size spacers and do they adversely affect performance? What are they 20" X ?, how much all totaled?

In general I'm looking for some wheels, prefer 20", I like these but I have also seen others I like for instance M6 wheels. Just looking for a decent deal.

I forgot the size, you can look my other posts for some spacer talk , I wanna say 15mm on front and 10 mm on the back . But can't be too sure. Tape a weight and suspect it from your fender lip and measure the distance between the lip and the edge of your rim and that's the sixpence spacer you need for that clean flush look. The xox wheels were 20x10 and 20x 9 for the fronts . The m6 replicas look great too .

Try eBay or the above mentioned vendor . The xix wheels were pretty cheap , vossens are a bit more , but still a bargain compared to the forged multi piece wheels . And vossens are really nice quality , had them on my cls55. IMO , much better than the xix. But xix were less $$.
