Uneven tire wear

Hey everybody. Today I was looking at my tires and noticed that my inner rear tires are wearing out unevenly. What's going on? The front tires are good. Click image for larger version

That's normal for a car set up with negative camber in the rear as E39's are. To reduce that uneven wear have the car aligned preferably by a shop that does BMW's regularly and request them to set the rear negative camber to the minimum spec.

Typing /uneven tire wear f3 in the bestlinks will net this detailed discussion with dozens of pictures and full alignment specs and implications from changing to those specs...
- One users quest to diagnose uneven tire wear on the inside edge due to excessive and uneven alignment camber & toe (1) (2)
