X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

Easy, Cheap Bluetooth Streaming Solution!

Here's a really easy solution to the lack of bluetooth streaming on the X6. It's cheap and easy to do. A company called Monoprice (monoprice.com) sells bluetooth streaming devices. I found this last year when I was looking for a streaming solution for my 2009 CTS. I figured the same fix would work for the X6. I was right. I have a 2011 X6 and an iPhone 5. The music receiver comes with instructions for pairing your phone.

Here are the components to order:

7364 Bluetooth™ Music Receiver $19.47
5441 1.5ft USB 2.0 A Male to A Male 28/24AWG Cable (Gold Plated) $0.90
5575 1.5ft Premium 3.5mm Stereo Male to 3.5mm Stereo Male 22AWG Cable (Gold Plated) - Black $1.50

Here's a picture of the install on my X6. Quick, easy, and it works!
