Just ordered!

Just ordered a 2014 X1 xDrive35i

Mineral Grey Metallic
Coral Red interior
M Sport
Ultimate Package
Heated front seats
Harmon Kardon

Will be moving from a 2011 X5d to the X1. While I love the X5, and the diesel is amazing, I am excited to be going to a smaller and sportier ride. The countdown begins....

I just picked up my 2014 X1-35i (the 35's are all xDrives) last Saturday. It arrived at the dealership exactly 5 1/2 weeks from the date that it was ordered. I think the stars must have been aligned because my previous two bimmer orders weren't that quick. Good luck with yours.

You are going to love it. I am ready for a stage 1 tune... perhaps Santa will be bringing it it for me...

I have a JBD in my X5d, and am also looking forward to a JB4 in the X1.

Just ordered!

Congrats! I would have opted for the 35i but my wife wanted better gas mileage. I guess that's why I drive a 335d to have both performance and mileage! Good luck man and I hope your wait's not too long!

Picking up our X1 28I M Sport in Munich in 2 months! Not sure if I am more excited for that or the 2 1/2 months we will be spending in Italy with our new X1!

Awesome, I have a 2011 X5d and am looking to return the lease few a few month for the X1, in the same exact spec and color as yours except in the x2.8.

Were you able to negotiate a good deal? I haven't read too much on what people are getting above invoice price (unlike the E70 forum) so not sure what to offer to the dealer.

I was able to succesfully negotiate $500 over invoice from my dealer (TX) in December (with incentives passed through to me, of course). That was for a special order X1 x35i.

Do you regret not getting the HK upgrade? I'm about to order...

Thanks

IMO HK is a waste in an X1... car is a bit noisy and there are a lot of hard surfaces. Unless you think an X1 will sound like a concert hall...

The standard HiFi is very good, considering your in a little SUV

@Randy,

What trim did you get.. light fineline or the cross hatch aluminum?
I'd prefer wood over aluminum, but not sure if the fineline will clash with the coral.

Anyone seen pics of that combo?

I opted for the aluminum, as I think it is a sportier look. I am generally not a huge fan of wood, but had the dark bamboo in my X5d, which I really liked (it didn't have an obvious "wood" look to it).

Happy to take and send you pics of the aluminum with coral interior.

Great, some closer-up pics of that combo would help, thanks!

I also have the bamboo with the cinnamon on my x5d.
In fact, the x5 is in the shop for an EGR recall and bad windshield fluid nozzle, so I have a X1 x-line loaner for the day. Engine is peppy and I took it out into the hills this afternoon, playing around with the eco mode, DS, and manual shift. It's nice to see the RPM kick past 4500, which the diesel is very reluctant to do.

How do you like it so far compared to the X5... miss the low-end torque, growl, top-down view on the back up camera, etc?

My X5 was cinnamon/alpine white. LOVED the X5d, but I just didn't need the size.

The X1 35 is SO MUCH more fun to drive. As much as I enjoyed the X5, the size of the X1 makes it such a better handling vehicle. Differences:

X5 fit and finish was much better. Buttons, interior material, much more luxury.
Miss comfort access on all 4 doors (I have a 5 year old, so I was able to unlock the car from the rear doors on the X5, now I have to unlock with key fob, or front door, and then open her door for her).
I used side view all of the time on the X5, especially when pulling into a parking space to make sure I was in the middle of the white lines. Not needed as much with the X1 because it is so much smaller.
I miss the auto hold button (which was the first thing I pressed once the X5 was started). I have found myself taking my foot off of the break in the X1 a couple times early on, just because of habit.
I miss being able to leave the heat on in for up to 15 minutes with the car off, especially when I take my daughter into school in the mornings (with it being 15 degrees here the past few days).

I have a JB4 in the X1, so low end torque isn't an issue (along with the lighter weight). X1 is SIGNIFICANTLY faster regardless of gear or RPM (X1 is 35).
With the m sport package, seats in the X1 are much better than the seats I had in the X5.
Nav is pretty much the same, although the X1 has connected drive and apps, that the X5 either didn't have, or just didn't work as advertised.
Did I mention the X1 is much more fun to drive? I love the paddle shifters.

Happy to take pics and send to you. Will do so over the weekend. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Apologies for the thread jack, but I just placed an order for X1 this morning with my CA

xdrive 2.8
light fineline, black nevada, mineral white
m sport
ultimate
lighting
2PD 18" performance tires staggered
HK sound
$500 over invoice.

Need to get thule aeroblade cross bars and thule sidearm bike rack for my mtn bikes .

Was tempted to go mineral gray/coral red or LMB/black, but my last 2 BMWs were gray and silver, so decided to get something different with the MW.

Nice build and congrats!
I think that fineline wood will look sweet on black interior with the white exterior!
