X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

How much did you end up paying? If you don't mind.

It was $44,700. As I said 5.0 with the Sport Package, Cold Weather, Premium, Nav, Comfort Access and a few other minor options. My wife HAD to have Navigation and Comfort Access. 43k miles. The car has been on the dealers lot for almost 4 months and they had recently reduced the price from $52,500 to $45k. Its CPO'ed so I am pretty comfortable that anything major will be covered under warranty for several years.

Just coming out of an '07 X5 4.8i that leaked oil and coolant like you wouldnt believe. Was quoted between $6k and $10k for the repairs that were needed on the N62 engine. My indy repair shot said that the 2011+ 4.4 engines were redesigned and he is pretty comfortable with them and he's been pretty spot on.

Love the X6, can't wait to get it home and steal it from my wife when I leave for work at 5AM...
