Jump into the M family

Hello everyone! I drive a 2007 335i, i recently have got in touch with a dealer about their 2009 M3 with just over 14,000 miles. I am very interested in this car! Even more so with that low of miles.

I am going to the dealership tomorrow to check it out and get my car appraised for a trade in. I guess what I'm asking is; is there anything I should look for in the M3. With that low of miles I hope nothing is wrong but anything I should keep an eye out for?

Hope this goes well tomorrow and thanks in advance guys!

Well, dunno. Car is out of warranty at this point?

Might be an idea to make sure the car had it's annual 'low mileage' oil changes. Ask for receipts.

Check to see if the car had issues with the idle control valve, like say was it replaced under warranty.

Check tire depths, 14K might be early for replacement, but these cars had sticky but soft Michelin Pilot Sports.

About all that comes to mind. Good luck.

Thanks, I'll ask for the reports on that, I will also check the tire thread. Yeah it will still be under warranty as well!

I am about to leave now to go check it out. Wish me luck!

Well good luck. Still under warranty? Awesome.

Interested in how it turns out.

Make sure it wasn't a lemon or buyback! That few miles can either mean it was a garage queen or a shop queen.

While the M3 as a rule doesn't have any truly horrible failures (except the rod bearing failure that has been getting some press recently but seems to be a relatively small number of cars) so you can't do too terribly bad. But still, like any car there were lemons and a lot of them are still floating around out there.

Nah, I went and they didn't even have the car in the lot and was just a hassle. I've grown to love my 335i and have modded it pretty extremely. I plan on keeping it. Faster than an M3 now, but I will forever love that V8 sound. Maybe one day.
