p1353

I have a 03 x5 3.0 that keeps having a p1353 code. Misfire cylinder 6 with fuel cut off. I had a valve cover gasket leak so I replaced the gasket, plugs, coils, and camshaft position sensor (intake). The misfire is intermittent so I know the cylinder isn't dead. Can someone please give me some wisdom so I don't just keep throwing parts at it.

If it is only ever one cylinder and you have already replaced the plug and coil I'd look for a plugged up/dirty injector.

I took it in to have it diagnosed and found out it has low compression in cylinder 6 FML. They said I need a new motor

How many miles?. If it has low compression it should be a piston ring or valve seal each should be repairable get another opinion.

low compression would be a piston ring in my opinion, fixable but you probally would want to rebuild the engine at that point.
