The manual? Go figure!

So, I'm sitting at the dealer doing a wheel/tire swap (another thread to come) and I was reading the manual (doesn't happen a lot) to find wheel stud torque and pressure specs.

There in front of me was a statement in the X5/X6 manual that states BMW does not recommend using tires over 6 years old, but in some cases tires up to 10 years old are acceptable. Ok, so not word for word I'm paraphrasing but that is the gist of the comment. Pretty strange I thought. Anyone see that before?

US/EU difference? similar to how we have different pressure ratings vs. EU because of that Ford fiasco.
