New to X5 35d

I just took delivery of a CPO X5 diesel with 33k miles. I hope to enjoy it for a while. I never thought I was going to be able to join this forum, but I was finally able to pull the trigger on a bmw.

Any suggestions for my new ride.

Enjoy your new vehicle and post your experience. I have been driving a few different models, but enjoy the X5d the most so far. The only bad experience is with the sun roof open and the rear windows down. You get the severe buffeting noise. Wild. But all cars have the same issue it seems. Best and welcome.

Yes do post a picture of your X5 diesel in the diesel forum.

Once you go diesel - you will never leave!

Being a former first generation X5 (E53) owner and then going to the diesel 335d, this X5d is a dream - the best of both worlds!

So far so good. We just came back from a 165miles drive and the trip computer averaged 29mpg @ 69mph cruising speed. Not bad at all.

Unfortunately diesel prices are on the rise in my area. Hopefully they will come down soon.

Ride is nice. I have the self leveling suspension and it seems to help to keep the car composed.

There are some annoying little noises coming from the back sits or trunk. I need to find out if there is anything loose that is causing the sounds.

I am having the car detailed now an I will add pictures soon. I am thinking of adding the aero kit, but haven't decided yet. I may just save the money for a nicer set of wheels.

I am positively surprised about the consumption and the acceleration. It almost looks like that the chip was remapped or something. Or maybe I had just forgotten about the BMW driving experience.

Welcome here and welcome to diesels! They are certainly addicting! Your MPG's seem about right, but even with higher diesel prices, you are still ahead! The 3.5i is probably not going to achieve that fuel mileage costing you more at the pump each time.

There are some ongoing threads about rattle.

My only advice is to drive it. Short commutes are particularly hard on diesels, so enjoy that power and stretch it's legs now and then!
