Welcome.

I have a pre Sep 09 build 2009 E92 (build date matters for the idrive).

I use this little gizmo to stream bluetooth from my iphone 4S:

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...217&highlight=

You will likely need a Y cable for a 2009, reference here:

http://www.amazon.com/iDRIVE-ADAPTER...ds=bmw+y+cable

Thing is, my car recognizes the phone, and the BT gizmo, at the same time. So incoming calls mute music automatically etc. it works pretty well for me for like $25.

Car is equip with everything that comes with this model but had some upgrades to include a Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust System, vorsteiner E92 boot lid, GTD-V front lip and ESS E-Flash ECU Performance Software 91 Octane/Akrapovic , also stores stock engine tune. Seller is also giving all the parts that was swapped out as well.
For you veterans M3 owner, is there be anything I need to be aware off?
Check if the idle control valve has had issues. Mine was replaced under warranty.

Some cars also had issues with creaking in the rear diff. A different spec fluid solved that problem for me.

Otherwise my car has been fairly trouble free.

Contacted the previous owner and he's willing to pitching in the Y cable free of charge. Does the chip which provides blue tooth capabilities works on the itouch as well?

Beats me. Don't see why not, if it supports BT.

I would find a credit card/gas card which you can get max big rewards for gas purchases.. We have //M3 and x5 50i so our quarterly rewards check is like a three figures.

Regarding the iPod thing, I bought a 2010 M3 two years ago that came with a cable from BMW. Plugged my phone and iPod (not at the same time) and got music from both and was able to control it from the I Drive screens/controller/steering wheel controls. No comm box on mine. The I don't remember if the cable was a y cable, but it was a BMW part. I plugged it into the USB in the center console arm rest, not in the glove box.

Since you have the Nurembergring decal on your car you have to take it to Nuremberg and drive on it at least once a month!

Looks very nice. I had a friend who had Akrapovic's on his E92 and they sounded amazing.
Congratulations!

The Akrapovic exhaust sounds awesome, and for those who don't have one, it is a great investment

My next move is to replace the current stock rims with a set of electric blue 19" 19x9 ET18 and 19x10 ET25 VMR V710 or Avant Grande 365s. I'm not an expert on sizes or off sets, so if anyone have info in this field let me now. I'm looking for a flush look but wide back tire, very little wheel gap and a tough look.

Rotorheadbob, are those Avant Grande 365 your running on your M3? If so what size and off set did you go with and are you having any issues? The guy at Modbargins.com told me that those where the ultimate competition M3 selected rims next to factory stock.

First M3 too!

Like Flex, I take delivery of my First M3 this Thursday. Its a new E92 coupe, 2013 model. My first dirve was Saturday, took it for a 140klm test drive , managed to get through some juice with that!.

I have had many powerful cars in my life but this is breath taking. I was also looking at a C63 coupe, (love the noise) however the M3 just feels a bit more integrated to the driver somehow.

Anyway, very excited for Thursday to roll along. Sadly I trade in my E93 335, a damn fine car too. Just a pity that I live in such a Nanny state, Victoria, Australia, the state of driving boredom!

I also migrated from a E93 335i to a 2013 M3 coupe. Agree that the 335 vert was a fine car but the M3 is a notch (or two) above. I only put 3600 miles on it before it was put into storage for the winter season. Once the potholes are repaired I will be taking it out again and have already registered for two HPDE's.

Welcome to the M world!

Congrats and welcome to the M world. Everyday is a blast just to see the car and drive it, don't think I'll get bored anytime soon.
Unlike you all, I own another a 99 323i which is in another class so this was a big upgrade for me, hopefully I can get it on the road as my daily driver soon after I fix the mechanical issues it's having.

KGA1958, congrats again and I know you can't wait for Thursday to roll around.....

Well, what can I say that great smile does not convey!, Ive not owned a car so tight, and refined. A pic attached of my new car as I picked it up at the showroom. Now to improve my driving to get the most out of it.

Cant help but think I have something really special in the last of the 3 series coupes and v8 to boot.

It may not be "the best" at anything, but is very good - probably uniquely so - at many things fine car designers strive to achieve.

I love my E90 M3, and can't imagine anything I'd rather have for anywhere near it's price.

I just drove it yesterday (hasn't been out to play much this winter!), with my wife. Enjoying the responsiveness of engine and chassis, listening to the throttle blips with the DCT downshifts ... it's a heck of a toy !
