Interior compatibility

New here, very new to bmw's.

I have a 04 x3. hate the interior color (tan). looking to change it up a bit.

Are there any seats that cross platform and will fit into an x3? Really hate the 4 spoke steering wheel as well. what are my options as far as interchangeability with other models.

The seats have two stripes that no other car has. It's the E46 seat frame.

the steering wheel from many BMWs of a similar vintage will fit.

Use Realoem to fin the part number of your current wheel, then look at other compatible wheels for your year, then use a cross reference to see what other models also had that same wheel.

You sure there is a sound business case for such upgrades in a 2004 model?

You might find the optional 3-spoke wheel for as little as $300, but may as well go all the way: http://www.beastpower.com/p/bmw/hart...e/HA-BE5383-SW

300 is much better, i actually dont really like the beast power one.

sound business case...probably not. figured if i came across a donor or parts car here and there, i could possibly do some interesting swaps.

so a e46 seat should be able to mate to the e83 frame?

Based on my aged research it's the same part. You of course wold want to do your own research using the part number method before committing financially.
