BMW X3 Radio Not Working

Hi

We have a BMW X3 2007 2.0d. The radio displays the clock and all lights are on, but the actual radio doesn't turn on or function. None of the buttons do anything.

Tips before I take it into the garage?

Thanks.

So we managed to get the radio on by disconnecting the car battery for 40 mins and reconnecting it.

Next problem... Now the radio is on, we can't switch modes! For example, we are stuck on AM, toggling between LW, LWA, MW, MWA. But we can't get to FM, AUX or anything else. If we put a CD in it will switch to that and start playing, but we can't change tracks or anything.

Ideas?

I had a similar problem with mine a few weeks back. I suggest buying a new radio because from my experiences and what I've seen on the forum, that is the only permanent fix.

Don't waste your money bringing it into the garage, you'll end up paying labor costs to find out you'll need a new radio in the end.

Removing and installing a new radio is a very simple DIY:
