New 2014 X3 lease, is this good deal?

I am new here.

I just leased a X3. I didn't negotiate using the selling price, money factors which some people suggest at various online articles because I don't know much about those. But I did compare the quotes from multiple dealers and decided on this one.

Here is the configuration I got:

Model: 2014 BMW X3 28i
Exterior: Alpine White
Interior: Black SensaTec leatherette
Brushed Aluminum trim

Packages

-- Driver Assistance Package
(Rear view camera with top View)

-- Lighting Package
-- Technology Package

Options
-- heated front seats
-- Rear View Camera with Top View
-- 18" light alloy V spoke wheels all-season run-flat tires
-- Automatic high beams S05AC

MSRP: $47,325
Residual Value: $26,975 (or 57% )
Mileage: 10,000/year
Lease Term: 36/month

Lease payment: $460/month
Cash out of pocket: $4000

Is this a good deal?

Thanks,
theinv

Exclamation When is it too late to see if it's a good deal?

Did you sign the contract and write the check? If the answer is "yes", then it's a good deal!

With 4K out of pocket, I think you could have done better with MSD's,... Now why would you come on this forum after the fact and ask questions, when you could have been educated on how leases work and how to get a better deal?

Only partial of 4K is down payment, it includes tax and fees. What do you think the price should be?

If I do MSD, I need to come up with at least 7 MSD, right? I don't want to pay that much amount up front. The max I want to spend is 4k.

You can choose any count up to the maximum of 7 MSD. When you use MSD you are not spending because the money comes back to you at the end of the lease. In fact, you are investing because you get a return on your investment every month in the form of a payment reduction. When you make a down payment you are spending because that money never comes back.

There are ways of rolling the fee's and such into the lease, and taking that 4K to use towards the MSD...

John: I too am in the DC area and wasn't familiar with the MSD's and nor did the local dealer offer it. I found a lot of great info on here and had to ask the finance guy (who was new) and I worked it into the deal.

If you have the funds upfront, it's a great tool. I drive a lot of miles and therefore did a 2 year lease. The MSD funds will come back to me at that time.

Forgive I'm new. How could your payment be that low with a residual of 26,xxx on a 47000 car with 2500 towards capital. The depreciation alone would be 486.00 a month?

Actually, I didn't get this car. I ordered it, but BMW says they no longer taking 2014 orders. so I cancel it and get a different 2014 X3 that is in stock.

The one I am getting now is $47,475.00 MSRP, monthly lease payment $465/month, cash out of pocket $3600, residual value 57%.

What is the final gross that you negotiated? The residual is 27000.

I don't really know. The dealer didn't give me exact number, but he said he gave me at least 5k discounts from MSRP. I have compared several dealers and two of them compete with each other on the quotes so I think it is not bad.

The residual here is higher than yours because my lease is 10k/year, yours is 12k.

Please do not tell me you trust the dealer, see the worksheet and have them explain it to you... BTW, 5K off a X3 right now is not a good deal, currently BMW is giving 2K off MSRP on all X3's, have the dealer take another 2K off the sales price.... BTW, your residual would be higher since you are only putting 10K on not 12K.

Last month, there was $1500 incentive, they took it into account already. This month is $2000, I think I can get only $500 off, right?

My current payment is 465/month, if take another 2k off, that will be ($2000/36=$55) less per month, I don't think I can lease a X3 for $415/month. Never seen such low payment in any forums.
