New BMW owner

Hi All,
Going to pick up my 2006 Z4 3.0si in the morning.

Sure glad I bought a car 250 miles away. It's gonna be a fun ride home.

Looking forward to being in the 'club'.

I bought mine in Phoenix. I live north of Seattle. Flew down and drove it home.
I love that car. It may not be a M. But it sure does haul A just the same!!
And gets 30mpg at 80 too.
Congrats on the purchase!!

I bet that was a blast driving it home from Phoenix.
I am originally from the Spokane Wa. area so I know right where you are talking about.
That is really impressive you were able to get 30 doing 80.
I haven't taken mine on anything more than little joy rides but 22.5 in town I felt was pretty good. Planning a trip back to Washington to see family real soon.
Congratulations on your purchase as well, I am very pleased with my decision.

Take care and enjoy!

I got rid of those run flats as soon as I got home. I just about hit another car driving alongside of me one time because it was tramlining so bad!!
I was wrestling the car all the way home.

Hi All,
Thanks for all the kind words.

For some reason I just got this email today saying I had responses.

@NewZee: Nice driveway! Please pardon my ignorance, but what is that little white beauty next to your Z4?

@Pierce: Is this 'tramlining' you mention the occasional feeling that you're in a track pulling you left or right? How would I identify 'run flat' tires?
I've only noticed it a couple of times at hiway speed, and it doesn't feel like the 'sticky' steering I've seen mentioned about older Z4s.

Thanks Again.

Tram lining is when the car does not like to drive straight very well. It is very sensitive to changes in the road like troughs in the road worn in by heavy traffic. One time you'll get a pull to the left, and the another time it may pull to the right. The phenomena is more pronounced with tires with very stiff side walls like run flats.
