Finally...

... Getting to play with my 08 3.0si I bought late last October. It's probably just the long winter, but this car feels much quicker and more powerful than my previous 07 3.0i. I spent part of the weekend installing the OEM wind blocker (about 1.5 hours and pretty easy) and fixing some trim pieces on the console. Now if only it'll warm enough to drop the top!

Here's to a long warm Summer that makes us forget this never ending Winter!

Maybe it's the extra 40hp you are feeling? Have fun!

I've got a 07 Si. That N52 just wants to go to red line so easily!! I haven't done that, but it revs very smoothly.
A much faster car than I expected.

As much as the speed, it's the quickness. I never thoutht the "40 hp" would make that much of a difference. Mostly, it just leaves a big grin on my face!

It's not just the extra 40 hp, the valvetronic system gives it near instant throttle response.

That's what surprised me the most. The throttle response and the quickness of the N52 is so much better than the M54.

This comparison is from the Z Post site so I can't swear to it's absolute accuracy, but having driven both, the "butt dyno" seems to back this up. Up to the mid to high 4Ks the N52 mirrors the S54 torque and HP, and the N52 throttle response seems to be quicker. What we've seen in local AutoX meets is the Z4 3.0si is just a tick quicker than the Z4M all other things being equal. On the track where the M would have more opportunities to use its revs I'd expect it to dust the 3.0si.
