It could help us help you better if you gave more info as to what set-up you have. Do you have the MK II, MK III, or MK IV...and are you looking for CD or DVD.

What have you already ruled out...like have you checked with your local BMW dealer or looked on eBay or amazon.com? Where does the $179 amount come from and what did that include..was that for a complete set, or a single disc?

Here's a link to a thread that has all the info you need as to how to upgrade your OS (operating software) to the highest available for you MK III Nav CPU. Once your OS is upgraded, then you can search the internet for the latest map CDs available (I believe you need the HIGH versions...the CCC versions will not work for our application...that's for the newer iDrive BMWs).

If you don't get what you need to upgrade your OS from this thread (like in downloading & burning an upgrade CD for free or paying for it)...go back and check all the links given (especially near the bottom of the thread) because it means you missed it: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all...ystem-faq.html

Also note that there are 2 different disks...one is OS (operating software) and the other is map CDs/DVDs.
