$25000 Budget is an M6 possible?

I recently graduated college and am very anxious to become a BMW owner :] I have $25000 cash to spend on a car and am wondering if there is any chance I will be able to find a 06-07 M6 worth buying?

Or should I just settle for a 07-08 335i for around $20k until I can afford a more expensive car?

Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

Get the 335, a tune, and some good summer tires. I have both, and I can say the 335 is really an awesome car, and is even better than the M6 in some ways. If you can find an 09 335 you will be set. I personally prefer the coupe. Options you need in your 3:

1. Sport Package - absolute must. Adds nicer seats, wheels, and suspension. Don't buy one without.
2. Navigation - I just think the interior looks much more upscale with the idrive. In the 09+ models you get the hard drive based idrive with the awesome new interface and music storage.
3. Premium - for leather.
4. Premium sound

Any other options are great as the 3 series comes Pretty stripped from the factory. I love the comfort access, but not a deal breaker.

For $25,000 you are literally going to be scraping the bottom of the M6 barrel. Maintnance and upkeep on these cars is very expensive. You won't get more than 10mpg so expect to fill up 2-3 times a week. Tires are $1200/set basically once a year. Oil changes 200+. Insurance, etc. I had my clutch replaced a few months back which set me back $2000. A month later had oil change and belt tensioner for another $600.

The 335 is a really awesome car, and one of the best performance luxury values out there. Get the newest/least miles you can find example, and then enjoy slowly adding mods. There is a huge online community, tons of reasonably priced mods, DIY for almost everything.

You did say, any advice is appreciated:

007 and 2008 M6 should be in the range, BUT just out of college - $20k plus may be out of the budget. This means that you should leave the stupid M6 alone for now, buy a new house if you don't have one, or invest what you have for a couple of minutes, then once you are settled, go buy the 335 and the M6 at the same time :-)

I know this is hard to do, but if you are also young and in college, I was your age once before and am just offering some advice
