2003 745LI Hid Fog Lights

So i bought the HID kit and bought the error eliminators. Now the question is... Do i have to cut my old wires to hook up the HID Kit? There is no plug adapter that matches the plug to the old fog lights?

Any help on this??

Thanks.

you bought the wrong kit then. I wouldn't cut the wires.

I have looked all over Ebay and the Web and have not found a adapter plug that plugs into the stock BMW fog light plug...

The Fog lights on my 2003 745li are H3 and i have read that you have to drill a hole in the back of the fog light cap to get the HID thru but i haven't seen anything about how to alter the stock plug to work with the HID ballast..

That locking cap on the back of the fog light assembly has a custom plug and you can't buy an HID kit that plugs into it. As another member said you will have to drill a hole to feed the HID wires thru to make the connection on the inside. You will have to use a sealant to seal up the area so no moisture gets in.

Ill be honest its been 5 yrs since I had my 745, I don't remember cutting any wires, I did drill out slightly the rear caps to feed the wires thru. If I recall theres a grommet already back there and its easy to open up a bit with a drill. maybe you just need to slide the wire blades into the correct +&-

2003 745LI Hid Fog Lights

This is what my friend had on his 05 745li. He ripped them out and gave them to me when he totaled his car.
My fogs are different since I have an 07. Personally, I would have done a cleaner job.

Sweet, I'll try and get these on my car before bimmerfest.

How much are these? I've seen them for 60$ but what are the most reliable error free brands?
