Great pics mbarrett635!!

I would love to see a any member with a Sapphire Black 50i M Sport.
I've seen mostly Carbon Black

I'm hoping to put an order in for the '15 X5 in Sapphire Black w/ ivory/black dakota interior. I'm torn between the Sapphire and the Space Grey.

Space Grey looks tottaly different in person then it does on the configurator. Owner pics are usualy true to real life color. Something about professionally taken pictures. I can almost swear that they edit and photoshop on the configurator.

Thanks in advance guys!

DN325CI - Very nice & thanks for posting... We ordered the same exterior minus the color (dark graphite). Seeing yours makes me feel as though we made the right choice regarding XLine & 20" wheel options.

Thanks man! Agreed, I'm not into mods either, but I didn't like the 19" Orbit Gray X-line Wheels that it came with. So, I bought these with tires included for only $1628. Not a bad deal at all. Also, the car handles better and feels just as comfortable as the 19" wheels due to the thicker tires. I'm quite happy with it. Even the dealer complimented the wheels.

This is how the car looked before the 22" Upgrade:

Totally changes the look. The 5.0i has a beast-like growl and the 19" wheels don't do it justice. The 22" wheels definitely add an aggressive look to the car.

The ride is very similar to the 19" in terms of comfort. The cornering/tightness is improved. I also like the ride height - it's slightly elevated. My previous car was 2004 Infiniti FX35 - the one in the pictures with 20" FX45 rims. I love tight suspension vehicles, esp SUV's. Always have always will. I wanted something closer to that in feel. This is also why my favorite mode to drive in is SPORT. My setup is not staggered. The wheels are 22x10 on all 4 with 285/35R22 tires. If you want a slimmer profile/stiffer ride and road feel, go with 295/30R22. This will probably give you a perfect fit. I think I might go for those next just to see how they feel. I had a slight rubbing issue in reverse with the front of the wheel with 100% max turn, but that has subsided - the only quick fix is to get 295/30R22 tires or slimmer or shave part of the plastic that it rubs against (minor) or not turn max in reverse. I have an X-line, so that might have made some difference. My tire thickness offers good protection from what I can feel/tell so far. Here are pics of the rubbing area: the rubbing for the left tire would occur when it is turned 100% max to the right in reverse, and for the right tire turned 100% max to the left in reverse. Reverse only because those plastic inner fender pieces are shaped downward. When you turn the wheel about 97-98%, there's no rubbing, so I know it's very marginal, and will go away with tread wear or just when those plastic edges wear out on their own from the rub.

I got them from a company called Wheel Plus in California. This is their ebay link to the wheels: http://www.ebay.com/itm/22-BMW-X5-X6...a276db&vxp=mtr

I called them directly (their number is on their ebay link/page) instead of buying from ebay to get the wheel/tire deal - $1628 through paypal without any issues. Shipping was free - took about 7 days. I'm sure you can pay extra and expedite. Ask for Diego. Really professional/helpful. Tell them Omar referred you if you consider buying from them.

If you have any other questions, let me know. I'll try to provide you information to the best of my knowledge .

Thank you SO MUCH for the info! I will definitely advise of your referral if I go that route. I first need to take delivery and the wait is KILLING ME! I'm curious about a couple things. I've heard back in the distant past about replica wheels not being to OEM specs and can crack and/or are not rated for the weight of the vehicle (SUV). I haven't done aftermarket wheels in a LONG time; i.e. 10 years, since I was in my early to mid 20s. There ALWAYS seemed to be some fitment issue, adapter needed, TPMS complications back in the day, rubbing issues, having to roll fenders, etc, and I just gave up! LOL. But, your post and the economical cost has peaked my interest. There's no way I would THINK about buying OEM BMW wheels from the dealer as they want ridiculous/ABSURD prices normally around 4-5K JUST for the rims. I'm really picky about what tires I put on my vehicle and I will typically only go with Michelins, Conti's, or Nitto. Because of Vegas extreme climates, I have to have an A traction and A temperature otherwise the tires are horrible in the heat, flat spot, and take a beating from the UV/heat. I typically don't like to go under 400 treadwear otherwise you are replacing the tires every 15K! I am not AT ALL jazzed about the run flats coming on the X. So, I was thinking, it may be a cool way to go to have a set of BMW 22s without the run flats. Doesn't look like Wheels Plus has those same rims you have, but I would be interested in doing them staggered as they are from factory m sport with 20s. When I get more serious, I will contact them. Awesome post and thanks for the info!

My pleasure, bro! I agree with you 100% about your concerns. I had the same concerns, especially in regards to not wanting to dish out $5500 for the 599M wheels (that was the only OEM I was considering). I made the choice after contacting a member here after seeing his post: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=923595. He's a really nice guy. He also gave good details on the wear/ride/drive, and he himself now has 23's! That's a bit big for my taste, lol! However, he seems to know his stuff as well. I drive a lot from highway/city/random back roads; I've already gone over some tiny potholes here and there without issue. I'll keep you up to date if I notice any issues or problems. However, so far I'm impressed/happy. Plus, people have ordered that rim/wheel combo from them for our car without problems. Wheel Plus have also installed them themselves on '14 X5. That's why he was confused as to why I was getting that tiny tire rub and offered to take them back (but I would have to pay the difference for the more expensive tires - conti's or pirelli's 295/30R22 size). He and I both came to the conclusion that that was not worth it. He even suggested that tire rack might have those tires for a little cheaper if I wanted to change my tires after they wear out - nice to know they have suggestions rather than trying to rip you off. I stuck with the protection because the only time I'm ever reversing 100% is from my garage, but I adapt really fast to things and no longer need to make a max turn as I reverse out.

Also, TPMS cost around $200-$300 supposedly. So, I just got my tire guy to use the ones from my 19" wheels and the center hub caps from them as well. He charged me $128 for everything including the tire installation and TPMS fit (the tires/wheels come mounted and balanced from Wheel Plus already so your tire guy has to unmount and rebalance them in order to put on the factory TPMS). I ordered the M emblem sticker as well from Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/BMW-Genuine-St...+wheel+sticker. Granted, it's a little pricey, but I wanted something that wasn't going to wear away - these had the best reviews - I know there are some cheaper/higher quantity items on Amazon. The wheels I have have the M emblem space below the hub cap if you look in the pictures. I got a hub cap tool to easily remove the hub cap so I can alighn the BMW logo directly above the M Emblem properly. I guess I'm a little OCD like that .

Also, we're buying a 2014 ML550 in a month or so. I'm a big fan of wheels/tires, especially M and AMG models. From their reviews, these guys seem to have quality stuff. I did a lot of reading as well on the MBWORLD ML forums for the 2014 Mercedes ML550 and ML350. People have put the AMG Replica 22" wheels with the same tires without issue. Here is the ebay link (as compensation for the tire rub on my X5, Diego is giving me ML63 AMG 22" replicas with Delinte D8's for $1539 ($100 off)): http://www.ebay.com/itm/121187212982. Here's how they look on the car: http://mbworld.org/forums/new-m-clas...-replicas.html. Honestly, makes the car look amazing the same way it did on my X5. 22" OEM replicas seriously don't make the car look ghetto - that was my initial concern because I've never had wheels that big on a midsize SUV. Obviously, the ML is a different vehicle with a different tire well, but there were no issues from all the threads I read up on in regards to that. So, I do feel pretty good about them. Plus, the tires are cheaper on 22" vs 21". I've read a lot about run flats, and came to the conclusion after a lot of reading/research, that they're not worth it. That's just my personal opinion. I'm sure people that have worse roads would prefer runflats on 20" wheels.

Anyway, sorry for the ramble. I also got my car coded. I ordered this cable: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201056990534...84.m1497.l2649. Really fast/responsive seller. Good quality cable. I attached it to my Dell Venue 8 Pro windows tablets using this OTG cable: http://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Gigab...b+3.0+ethernet. Obviously, if you have a lighter laptop, you can use that without this. I used teamviewer with the help of a fellow BMW coder who was nice enough to call me and walk me through everything. Here's links to coding basics: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=175, http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=631884. Here's what I got coded:
Disable iDrive legal disclaimer
Disable Rear and Side view camera legal disclaimer
Disable seat belt status display/annoying sound when belt is not on (I always put my belt on but I always hated the BMW sound when you take it off. I have a habit when I pull into my home and take off the belt)
Enable DVD in motion
Enable Fog Lights with High Beams
Enable key fob and driver side door handle to close the trunk (requires powered trunk)
Enable key fob and driver side door handle to fold mirrors and close windows
Enable video playback via USB Port and with various video formats
Opening doors will not interrupt window roll up (Front and Back)
Splash animation on the iDrive screen upon system load: Variant1 = M logo, Variant7 = White BMW logo, Variant8 = Brown bmw logo (same as HU_CIC), Variant9 = Merry Xmas
Transfer telephone ringtone to the car

There's no issue for voiding warranty. I even took it to get serviced by my dealer in regards to my scratchy standard HIFI speakers and ambient lighting issue where the top visor lights stay white in BLUE mode instead of being blue like they were when I first bought the car. The dealer didn't notice a thing. I think the things that catch their eye are engine tunes mostly.

I tend to give detailed responses on things I enjoy . Good luck on your decision. Let me know how everything goes for you! Always happy to help a fellow enthusiast

AMAZEBALLS post. Thanks man so much. I don't even have the X5 yet and now I'm shopping around for 22's. Grr. LOL. I'll have to call him over there and ask if he can do them in a staggered setup, 22x10 front and 22x11 rear. I think you are spot on going with the 35 series tires. The 30 series are like rubber bands and will provide even less protection. and...OMFG, that X5 50d is effing incredible! I've got sapphire black coming with black dakota and aluminum hexagon. Damn it, I WISH I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE IVORY/BLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grrr. I also wish we get the 50d...I'd be all over that in a heartbeat. I commute alot and the V8 would cost me 2K in gas a month LOL!

Haha, thanks! Agreed about the M50d! Honestly, I think black on black is sexy. It's easier to clean and keep looking new as opposed to lighter interiors. We have two cars in black on black '05 QX56 and '14 MDX and it's def a great look. I actually started shopping and looking around for 22"s wheels and 21" wheels before I got the vehicle as well. The original plan was to buy a 3.5i M-Sport. We were actually about to do the Sapphire Black with Black Dakota Leather but fell in love with the only 5.0i Mineral White on the lot in comparison to the 2 3.5i (black/black, space gray/black) and 1 3.5d (black/black) that were complete stock/base models with nothing in them. I'm glad I got the 5.0i. I've never owned anything this powerful before. The most powerful car I drove was a Lexus ISF on a track in West Virginia (Summit Point) when it was first released, and that was def fun.

If I would do it over again, I would def have ordered and gotten the HEX aluminum, anthracite interior roof liner, LED lights, H/K speakers, and perhaps M sport (not sure though because I like the sporty/rugged look of the X-Line but prefer tighter suspensions - I like feeling the road - makes me feel I am in control of my car). The gas is the problem with the 5.0i having a 4.4L twin turbo. That's why Eco Pro mode is useful and doesn't take away from the power of the car, surprisingly. I actually don't like JUMPY/Delayed throttle responses, which kind of happens in Comfort mode. Eco actually drives better like the car's speed/pedal response line up. Sport mode is the best because everything gets tighter/response is the best.

I look forward to your car pictures/feedback. Hope you enjoy it! I know the wait sucks

Yours def looks sick. I'm more a fan of the M Sport because I like the more aggressive body kit. I wouldn't have considered the xLine until I saw yours!! Mine will have the alum hex interior. I heard the base sound system is wretched, but I didn't even bother listening to it as the only X5 I could drive was a sDrive3.5i base with few options. I knew I would (at minimum) need the HK sound as I am somewhat of an audiophile. I wouldn't have minded the B&O, but for 4500 added to the 69K xDrive3.5d, at nearly 75K, doesn't make sense on the 3.5. I would've gone for the 5.0 - but then the gas in that beast would have killed me on my commute! My S5 6MT was the quickest car I've owned, but have driven faster (Ferrari). My actual first choice was Mineral White w/ Terra Leather / alum - no such luck. Would have to order and didn't want to wait that long. My second choice was Black Sapphire w/ Terra and 2rd was Black/Black. NOW, I would've changed that around after seeing the ivory/black, even damn well knowing that wouldve gotten dirty as hell and had marks all over it and blue jean denim color transfer. LOL

Thanks buddy. I didn't even know what an X-Line was and that the aggressive/matching fender was a part of the M-Sport. These are all things I figured out later from reading and seeing other X5s in the forums here. I'm an audiophile as well, which is why I was able to notice the scratchy sound as soon as I heard the annoying BMW seatbelt sound. I then noticed it in every higher note and strong base song. I really wish I could swap out for HKs. However, it's a completely different setup with 16 speakers including 2 subs as opposed to the standard 9 speaker HIFI system. Bang and Olufsen would have been amazing, but like you said forking out $4500 isn't something I would want to add to my 72K price, lol. This is why I've been doing a lot of research and even dealer confirmed the best option is a plug and play system like BSW without voiding warranty, which I am going to look into once released. True, his ivory/black is definitely nice. I can't disagree with you there. I'm really particular about "matching." I don't like vehicles that have way too much mix and match going on with colors. Like some cars have grey dash leather, with tan seats, and a black steering wheel. That just looks hideous to me. I've seen many of these poor interior combinations. Contrasting colors I don't mind as long as it's like two colors This is why when you see performance vehicles and super cars, they always match two colors if going that route. For me, it has to flow . Again, could be an OCD thing, haha.

Also, the S5 is awesome. I think all base audi's are way too underpowered. They're really well built cars, have great interior, but always get shafted when it comes to performance/power. This is why The S and RS models are the way to go, but only problem at that point is the price. When going that high, you can get fully loaded BMWs or Mercedes that do have enough power. Audi R8 v10 is and always will be one of my most favorite vehicles. It has everything created RIGHT for an audi in terms of looks/power. The first r8 was underpowered, and they realized this and created one with a gallardo engine in the v10. Sometimes, I feel like car companies don't have very intelligent people working under them in terms of the design/power of vehicles. Or it's just one big scheme of a 10 year plan to make a car underpowered/ugly because they know it will sell, and the model that looks and performs better the next couple of years will sell even better. Beats me
