Pricing

Started looking for a z4, then saw the 2009 hard-top convertible, and had to up my budget to acquire one. Made the mistake of looking at a couple off-lease in the Miami area, and thought (somewhat) mistakenly that I could find something in the $25k range. (biggest mistake was telling my wife I would keep it at that).

Now I'm finding most are more in the $28~29k range, although it also seems you can buy some 2011's (don't see many 2010's, and the 2011's all seem to be 3.5's), for just another grand. Seems a bit odd, or am I missing something?

Found a nice 2009 3.0, with manual (really trying to find an auto) for $25.750... immaculate car. Just wondering if I end up spending $27 or $28k whether I ought to go ahead and spend $30k and buy a 2011.

I always recommend buying the newest, lowest mileage car you can work into your budget. If your making monthly payments than $1k isn't that big of a difference if you getting a newer car or a lower mileage car. My 2 cents.

I have a 2011 3.0 that I bought CPO with 17k and now have 40k and it's been a great ride.

Best of luck in your choice.

I agree I was contemplating a 2009 over 2011 but decided that it's best to pay a little more for something newer and win less miles. If your lucky you should be able to get the warranty with it.

Thanks, think I'm close. Found a VERY nice 2009, with auto, for $25.5k. Going to look at a 2011 on Monday, but adding another $5k is hard, when it's a summer fun car. Thanks for the input.

PS. The 2009 has $27k miles. I, too, would like to have some warranty, but wonder at what cost.

Forget the automatic! Get the twin clutch. You can manually shift it and your wife can drice it in the automatic mode.
