I really don't see why some call these ugly...but, even if it were, I'd still like mine! Glad you are pleased, and that's all that counts. I've found mine to be probably the best car I've owned over the years.

I too don't understand why the 'ugly'word is used and love the GT's
powertrain, ride and versatility.

Guapo, well done, nice pics and enjoy!

What interior did you get with that Damask Red? I see a 335i in Damask around town with Cinnamon which is the combo I was going to get had I gotten Damask.

Very nice...really like the exterior color. Being nosy now...why a TX plate in NJ?

Thanks for the comments everyone.

ErnestHouse - we chose mocha for the interior, looks beautiful and the Napa leather is so soft...

Daders - good question, we are Texas residents living in NJ (military).

The ugly comments that were lauded almost universally just don't hold weight at this point. I see the lines of our GT incorporated across the new car model lines across the spectrum. Imitation is the highest compliment. Congratulations. The experience my family has in our GT is immensely satisfying. The paint is so rich in color on your GT...very nice.

Congratulations on a fine acquisition!

The only issues that I have with this car is its sheer size and front end design. At 5'7" it just feels way too big for me, though it provides an unparalleld comfort during long trips. The hood line is my single biggest pet peeve. Hope the next generations looks better, which I realize is a totally subjective statement!

I assume that you have adjusted the seat to as high as it can go.

My wife as her own BMW ( a 335xi) but she thinks my GT is "too big" and thus has yet to drive it (though I don't encourage it and, like you, she loves its comfort on long trips.

No issues with the seat adjustment. I happen to like smaller cars with nimble handling characteristics. So when driving the GT, I tend to set the steering/suspension to Sport mode and proceed to toss it around and enjoy the twin turbo motor as much as possible, while ignoring the disapproving looks!

You do what I do with the Sport mode and i save Sport+ mode for "special occasions" when I need the extra "oomph" to leave some twit driver behind that desperately needs it.I guess that I am lucky that I can get a "nimble" fix every now and then from my wife's 335.

I don't notice any disapproving stares and actually have received many compliments on my GT, from how it looks to the trunk/hatch combo and the impressive cargo room with the rear seats down.

To clarify, I mean to say that I ignore my wife's disapproving stares, while tossing the car around town and on the highway. My "fix" is the 328 daily driver. :

OP - you'll have lots of fun with this car, iIm waiting to hear stories as you continue to discover the car's capabilities.

Oh, THOSE stares (that others here have experienced spousally as well for various reasons that hardly seem valid at all). I guess "ignorance can be bliss". Well done!

I usually just tell my wife that" I'm about to hit it" and she allows me to do my thing. Disapproving looks are almost constant when married to a red head. The N63 in the 550 has long legs my friend. Things move faster with more weight attached. We do not drive nimble 3series..different experience for sure.
