My Service Engine Soon Light is on Help

So my ses light came on recently on my 2003 BMW 330i. Some of the symptoms are that my shakes when it isn't moving. I could feel that the engine shakes and my rpms would go up also. I took it so i could see why the light was on and it came out with codes:
228 o2 bank 2 control deviation
227 o2 bank 1 control deviation
242 misfire cylinder 5
240 misfire cylinder 3
241 misfire cylinder 4
203 o2 bank 2 control limit
202 o2 bank 1 control limit
243 misfire cylinder 6
239 misfire cylinder 2
238 misfire cylinder 1
The guy ended up saying that it was a vacuum leak. And he said that it was about a $600 fix. I dont have that money right now to fix it. Does anyone know what may be causing the problem and how it can be fixed? Thank you.

Strange, your code list does not match your descriptions. Misfire codes are in the 300's.
P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected
P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
P0305 Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected
P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected.

When was the last time you changed the spark plugs, and fuel filter? Check your DISA valve seal, the CCV hoses, lower intake boot, fuel pressure regulator hose. Is your valve cover gasket leaking? BTW, it will cost you some money and time hunting around to address your issue.

Assuming the non-misfires are lean codes - Vacuum leak is most common, and will likely address the misfires when fixed. Cracked intake boot, cracked CCV/oil separator valve and/or attached hoses, DISA gasket or faulty DISA. EDIT: What TommyD said ^.

Boots? Replace. CCV system? Replace. DISA gasket or unit? Replace gasket or unit.

If you have the slightest bit of wrench skill you could do the boots and DISA.

CCV is not for a novice.

e46 wiki has some write-ups on these that will give you idea/DIY. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...05#post8014505

Those codes are okay and parallel with the symptoms you are getting. They are just not read with a generic OBDII scanner. They are BMW specific codes. The guy was probably using a BMW software or a special code reader designed to work with BMW cars.
You have a long list of things to do as mentioned by the above posters. Start with the simple and cheaper ones. This could be a very simple thing that you could solve by yourself. Or it could be a pain in the butt...
