CA emergency!

Finally got up the nerve to replace the CAs. I've done the CABs before so seemed like a similar task.

Got the inner BJ nut about 90% off and it started spinning. Tried penetrating oil, jack under BJ to put pressure on the joint, jamming a pickle fork in between arm and frame...nothing. It won't budge just gets harder to turn with pressure on the joint but nut and bolt turn together. THere's about 1/8 of an inch of bolt above the nut. .

I went at it from above with an impact gun but no luck.

What a mess!!

Try tightening it back down and inspecting the threads, the top part may be burred, rolled, etc. It may also make it easier to remove with the impact gun if you start from it being tightened down.

In a worst-case scenario, put a nut splitter on that mofo....

Tried that. Just spins. Nut is stuck near the top of the bolt. Need to find a way to "freeze" the BJ so I can get it to budge.

That's be nice but can't see how I could get that into that cramped space.

I may be able to pry the arm away from the cross frame enough to use a grinder with a cutting wheel and cut it off. What ya think?
