Is this a good buy? Any advice?

Hey guys, this is my first post so wooo. Well anyways I've been looking for a bimmer for ages it feels like and I think I found a good one, just not sure on the price. It's a 1980 320i with 116k miles. no rust that I know off, all/as much as possible original parts, everything seems to be in good order. The guy is asking $2500 and all I've seen 1980 320i's go for is any where from $800-$1800 and I don't want to low ball him, but I do want the best deal I can get( I only have about $1800 as well without borrowing) . Also is there anything that I should ask him about the car he says he got it check out by a mechanic and everything for the most part is good, and going to test drive Monday. Thanks!

I replied to your other thread. $1800 is only the beginning of what you are going to be spending...

at some point in time you'll be spending more money keeping up with that car than you are paying for it.. sadly
