2.5L has plenty of power, definitely enough for daily use. If you have your mind set on 2.5L, don't test drive 3.0, coz you will like 3.0 better, then you will have harder time decide between performance vs money.

I do NOT think RX330 get better fuel efficiency than X3 2.5L. My freinds RX get average 18MPG over 15K miles. I think 2.5L will do better. RX330 is a very nice SUV, the only thing you don't get in RX330 is the handling of BMW.

I would have to agree with the fact that these are different SUV's and very hard to compare. My friend has a RX330, I personally think the interior is ugly (and the rear taillights), but it does feel luxurious inside. My brother in laws have MDX's and although the interior is very nice and I like the stylin as well, it still can't compare. My mother has an ML320 and not even that can compare to the drive of the X5. All these people after driving the X5 understand what I mean. Although the X3, and X5 drive different, they both bimmers, they are both apart of the ultimate driving machine. Nothing like it.

It has a firm ride, goes very straight down the road, and it corners fairly well. It is really much more car-like than the ponderous and bloated X5. Granted, the 2.5 may be a bit of a dog, but I'm not buying a sports car. I just want something to get me through one year without serious depreciation issues. I like the space inside too - lots of rear seat room compared to the e46.

For me, getting another e46 would be a sorry mistake. Once the e90 comes out, the resale will tank.
