X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

If the fault memory stated gear ratio monitoring, that mean your clutch plate is slipping. This might need to take out the gearbox and replace the clutch plate.

Hey jack
Thats what my dealer said, he needs to change the clutch, but the car drives normal if I dont try to push it hard, so u think that should solve the problem? I really hope it does cos I just bought it 27k miles and haven't enjoyed it

Hi, if you are not that kind of performance type of driver, is ok. Clutch slip is due to when you really push hard and insufficient oil supply to the clutch, it wear off in long term. This problem is because the dealer say no gearbox oil change needed. I wonder why they say that......

So far my workshop had overhauled alot of gearbox, all the gearbox mileage are around 150k km above, only x6 3.5i 80k already get the problem like you. The only customer gearbox has not been overhauled is e90 325i n52 200k km with every 30k km gearbox oil change and at 160k km with gearbox oil cooler replacement. So far so good.
