Servotronic steering and rear side impact airbags

Im my quest to find the X3 that meets my needs I have become perplexed as to why none are stocked with either the servotronic steering or the rear side impact airbags!

If anyone has recommendations as to these options please post them.

Most salespeople tell me that the rear-sides are too controversial and they don't like to stock their cars with those bags. The X3 will be a family car, and I want the best protection for my child. Other cars to be considered child safe have rear side airbags as standard. Any opinions on this.

And as for Servotronic steering, Iv'e read the descriptions, it sounds interesting, but no one has it. Is this a worthwhile option? Anyone have it?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Mein Auto: which day is this?
We have the servotronic on my spouse's X3 and it is very nice. The steering is effortless without the serious degredation of road feel during cornering.

If i remember right, side impact bags should not be activated in a vehicle if small children will be in the back seat. On vehicles that are so equiped, the function is usually disabled unless requested by the owner.
