Possible X5 purchase

I have owned several 5 series and I am very familiar with the V8. We are now looking at an 07 or 08 x5 3.0 for my wife. I am trying to avoid the larger engine and the notorious oil leaks. Is there anything I should look for with the 3.0 do they have the cooling issues of the sedans? Any suggestions or known problems on these cars that are common? Thanks

What?!? I need to worry about notorious oil leaks? I've owned 5 V8 BMWs but haven't worried or had the problem yet. But convinced now.

Wow pbof, I am sure that OP will appreciate the benefit of your experience!

Wasn't it you who was just asking about the cost of a pre purchase inspection and a blank nav screen? What's up? Somebody has obviously made you throw your toys out of the cot (thread appears to have gone now, you must have deleted it in your temper)

When purchasing a vehicle, one buys it, not "bye" which is short for goodbye.

So, you are offering zero real experience advising OP on a subject you know nothing about.

Time for you to go ....bye

Nice, you post about a car you're looking to purchase (your first BMW?), it has one symptom of a problem, you have it inspected and one mechanic tells you not to buy it, and from that you deduce that all BMWs are trouble.
I hope you find the right car for you, but don't act like some crackpot spewing hatred about something you have no experience or stake in. You've shown your true colors and I hope you stick to Mazda.
