Chassis Malfunction... Drive Modertely

Had this on the other board. 2013 28i M-Sport/DHP trouble free for over a year.

First visit right front damper sensor recalibrate. Next day light comes on again and back to shop. Replace sensor light still on.

Order new main controller wait for shipping from Germany and customs was 2 weeks. Tech takes car home after new controller installed and light came back. Latest status is some type of communication between dealer and Germany has to take place unknown ETA but now going on 3 weeks without my X3.

Received back drove local for 2 days and light comes back on. Another week and harness from sensor to sensor replaced.

Received back, drove about 150 miles over a week and light comes back. Waiting for sensor to controller harness. 2 Week backorder.

Aggravated as heck but the good is that my dealer has take care of me since the beginning with a 2014 X3 but non M-Sport. Wanted to keep this X3 but big second thoughts now. Wishing I kept my 2009 more and more.

The wiring hanesses sometimes get fried and its difficult finding out which one. Also consider another service department at another dealer for a fresh set of eyes on the problem.

Is the NH lemon law for only the first year?

I agree the wiring harness is a tough one but its a 60k car... fix it ! According the SA, BMW is in charge now so bringing to a different dealer probably wont matter at this point. The interesting thing is this started within a week of the first oil change and already had 10k trouble free miles on it !

From what I read, it doesn't state a particular time limit other than its out of service for 30 days during the original warrantee for a new car which I am rapidly approaching. But all you are entitled to do is file for arbitration.

At this point I don't really have a grudge against the dealer because they've kept me in a newer albeit less equipped X3 but it's still not the car I paid for.

I'm more bummed that I was planning on keeping the car but probably not with this mess.

I think once they find the root cause of the problem and fix it, you'll be good to go for the long term.

You need to light a fire under BMW's a$$, and the only way to that is to ask for a replacement car under the lemon law.

I'll see how they do with this go around. Then yes I'm going to have to start getting ugly I think.

It took 2 months for BMW to figure out what was wrong with my 2011 X3. BMW replaced the cylinder head and finally it ran okay and the check engine light stayed off. I think you could have a good case for the lemon law.

It was still under warranty but I got rid of it as soon as it was fixed.
