sorry about your tire problems: as to the did you buy it here question, i am not sure but i think the dealerships make a TON more servicing the car than actually selling it, at least to educated consumers.

Car mags and forums love the Ford Fiesta. I'd rather try that for a loaner than a Taurus or Camry.

When I wrecked my F30 I had a Corolla for a month. Actually, perfectly adequate. I'd have been more interested in a Fiesta, actually.

Yes we can ask a % of it be dropped but it's a very small %.

I have used allfactorywheels to get refinished oem rims cheaply. You can buy directly or via ebay. Not as sure about the tires...sorry.

Fwiw, I read your original post earlier today and it has been at the forefront of my mind since. I know the rental is now the least or your worries but holy schiz I would lose my mind. The service experience is more important in many ways than the buying experience - you'll spend more time in service and dealing with the dealer than you will buying (for most people at least). You don't give a 7 series owner a fiesta! Many dealers will absolutely bump you down the priority loaner list when you didn't buy from them, but I've never had them enforce that on me personally. Definitely gotta find a new dealer for service!

Wow................... that sucks...........! You should get a decent loaner car I feel. We, Pacific BMW do extend loaners cars to people who make an appointment regardless of whether you bought car from us. If you show up unannounced yes we may not have a car for you. But will always do our best. That a really nice Active Hybrid 750... heard you got a great deal ;-) You should look up that same CA next time around.

Would You Be Pissed?

[QUOTE=MWatty550;8539574]

If you want to be a real d*ck go to the Service mgr. and give him a piece of your mind.

Sorry, but I disagree as to just who is the "dick."

Not that anything would be done about it, as the dealership will just pretend to give a rodent's posterior, but I would in no way feel like I was in any way demeaning myself by discussing this jerk's comment with those on high.

I understand that many dealerships earn a significant percentage of their annual revenue from the Service Department, so that talking to someone in power just might accomplish something. People are creatures of habit, so if poopsie boy has acted toward you that way, you probably aren't the "Lone Ranger." Maybe if it's his habit, and there have been enough complaints about him, he'll be fired, though I really doubt it.

Speak up!

Richard

Or possibly "worse," or, if it was time for lunch, it could have been wurst.

Uh...it's "trivial."

As I don't know them, and you do, perhaps I'm being unfair, but I would get a "second opinion" from another BMW dealership's service department, or from a mechanic you trust.

Sound high to me...perhaps not.

the only part that would really piss me off is the attitude about "not buying from us". otherwise be grateful you are getting any car in such short notice.

In all seriousness I could care less about my loaner car. Remember this is "Internet Heaven" and we say whatever we want whenever we want. I just love to stir it up a bit and get reactions like this... Makes for a good waste of time. No real malicious intent whatsoever here.

To the person feeling the problem, there is no difference between a First World or Third World problem. The emotions, sense of loss, etc. are similar between someone living in the First and Third worlds. That's why wealthy people have nervous breakdowns as well as poor people. Money can't buy happiness, etc.

You must not understand what the pop phrase means. Everyone has problems. This is not really one, in my opinion. If OP had an SUV that seats seven and they need that level of space, then sure. But if it's just that OP got a lower class vehicle...

Lol...all 4 tires probably won't fit in that car...brought one back to the dealer so they can replace the flat one. Next step - USA wheels in Fairfield NJ for repair of 3 cracked and bent rims...should be sorted out next week...

As for the dealers attitude...it's a lot better today, so am gonna let it slide. But I am clearer than ever that I'll be getting my next car from a board sponsor...

I certainly do. But I think it's largely a Western cultural term. In many cultures, possibly Japan and likely Germany, people tend to strive for perfection, and do not look lightly on almost any problem. Just an example. So I don't think it's necessarily right to say the OP's problem should be taken lightly due to this. He certainly seemed to think it was serious enough. While we each have our opinions, I'm just trying to point out that some are validly different, and to say it's just a "first world problem" is probably making light of it.
