Tranny problem on X5?

OK, here's a real issue for the forum:

I was entering the parking garage at the office this morning, as I do every day. It is a upward hill, probably about 45 degrees. when I inserted my gate card, and stepped on the gas, and released my foot from the brake, i slid backward, there was no forward movement while giving it gas, or very very very little.

I shifted back to neutral, or park ( I can't remember), and back to drive and it went. It obviosuly slipped and fell out of gear.

any idea of past problems or bulletins on this?

thanks

Wassy, I haven't heard of an issue like this YET.....Honestly I would say keep an eye on it and see if it happens again. If it DOES happen again, then its time to get Mr. Dealer involved...

You and I both know what will happen at the dealer -- "Can't duplicate, no problem found"

Sure, at the dealer. But don't discount the friendly and helpful folks from BMWNA and their generous offer to help.

I haven't forgotten BMWNA, and in fact, the dealer is aware of it. Tomorrow, I meet with the Field Service Rep, so they told me to add it to the "LIST"...

BMWNA, so far, has been very nice, and has shown an interest in resolving my problems and making me happy. I hope to have some resolution, one way or another, this week.

I will let you know. However, I have had other issues as well. This morning, I started the car, and the engine just surged to about 3000 RPM, as if I gave it a shot of gas. turned the car off, and again, like magic, it surged. did this 3 or 4 times, and then just drove...
I have no idea what this one is, nor does the dealer.
