How to manually release the trunk?

I unplugged the battery to let the vehicle 'reboot' itself in about an hour...but I closed the trunk! How do I open it without the battery being plugged in??? Luckily I didn't lock the doors!

I'm thinking that you're going to find yourself crawling over the rear seat to reconnect the battery terminals.

FOUND IT!!! There's a small plastic tab next to the courtesy light (on the inside right of the trunk lid.) Didn't even know it was there! Still has to be pulled from the inside of course!

I can't believed the X5 didn't have a key hole in the hatch lid to be manually open from the outside!
