i have a 2006 330i with about 113k miles on it. So it got pretty cold last night and i had a gallon jug of water left in the trunk from the grocery store. It was sitting directly over the battery on the right side of the trunk. About half of the water had leaked down to the battery compartment. The cables are wet and i am working to get everything dry. My car will not start. The radio comes on and the doors unlock and lock. It just will not turn at all. My fear is that i fried the ECU, but is it possible if i dry everything out and recharge the battery that it may crank? At this time i do not have any error codes or check engine lights. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you

How old is the battery? If it is the factory original, it is well past its time for replacement!!! No-crank but other electrical items working is a sign of an old battery that simply does not have the capacity to turn the starter....give it a charge and try again. If the IBS got wet, it might not be telling the DME to shut off power to various accessories, in order to maximize available power to the starter...so make sure the IBS is dry and functioning.

Alright so here is the update on the situation. I was able to dry the cables and the surrounding area to jump the car. The car will not start if the IBS is plugged in. Without the IBS plugged in the car starts up fine. The car is throwing all kinds of warning lights like the tire pressure is low and the DTC is not working but no check engine light. I am wondering if i just need to replace the IBS to resolve the issue.
