F22 / F23 2 Series (2014 - Current)
The 2 Series coupe is the replacement for the E82/E88 1 series coupe. Production starts in November 2013 on the 228i (N20) and M235i (N55) coupes. Look for them in dealerships in February 2014. The convertible F23 2 series will follow in the fall of 2014.

M stripe grille options. What do you recommend?

I see a ton of different options online for the m stripe grille. Can anyone suggest a product they have used and like? ThanksClick image for larger version

Went on Amazon and ordered 1/4 inch pinstripe.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

1/4 inch comes in this purple, light blue and red. The light blue looks aqua in the pix but it is really a light blue

10 minute job w/ a razor blade and small screw driver ( screwdriver blade to start the stripe in the upper angle of the grille vertical tooth and again to finish at the bottom).

Holds up well, and looks clean, if you decide you don't like it later on, peel the stripe off.

Ret-USA,

yes, looks good!

I was going to buy 3 rolls of electrical tape to match the M colors.
You can then stripe the fins you want, then have the rest of the rolls to use
around the house for other projects.

I was looking at that option also. I hit a couple of hardware stores and saw some 3M tapes. I could not find a light blue color. The red was perfect and purple was very close, but no light blue.

Also wasn't sure how that tape would look wrapped around each grille tooth (as the tape would "pucker' at each bend. I also though about cutting the tape to 1/4 " on a pane of glass w/ a straight edge to just do the leading edge.

Finally decided to just buy the pre-cut 1/4 inch pinstripe. More expensive, but has the right texture, color and shine when done. Plenty of left over for a "do over" should I need to.

I looked at the snap on stuff sold on Alibabba, but thought adding a plastic sleeve would not look right. Other options considered were pre-painted replacement grilles (prices ranging from $75-$110 a set). They also sold the M2 style double tooth, but after seeing the videos to install, came back to the pre-cut pinstripe.

I have a local pinstripe/graphic/window-tinter that likely would have done it for less than $20 (and probably would have covered the entire grille tooth), but thought I'd go the DIY route first.

It's fairly common for customers to purchase the gloss black grilles and pinstripe them themselves. If it looks bad or you don't like it, you still have gloss black grilles!

As if the M235i/M240i was somehow deficient in badging.
