Well I jumped in quick on a used highly optioned 2017 did I goof?

I found a super highly optioned 2017 M3 just bought in October with 8k miles and a sticker price of over $87k, plus he spent another $3k on more stuff like carbon air dam, diffuser, and super trick window tint.

I got it for $71.5K. I wasn't going to spend that much on one, but figured it had so much extra stuff it was a real diamond, and so much warranty left too.

I've been a gearhead forever, and turn 59 in a couple months. I just had to own one more M3 before I get too old. Is this a good deal?

I mean they drop in value pretty fast, thats about what the car is worth in my OP by 20-30k miles itll be worth a tad more but it'll still find tis way to the 50s and 60s with the rest of them...

You just need to decide what enjoying the car is worth to you. None of these current M's hold value when BMW Financial approves everyone and anyone with a down payment or MSDs and credit score over 660 lol

My GTR even after the dealer rebates that killed after market value is selling for 61k with 43k miles [I bought it for 74k with tax 3 years ago this Novemeber with 5600 miles]. In 3 years and 43k miles your car will maybe have a value at high to mid 50s and trade in at 40s

Mine was a 2015 sticker was 76 or 78 so every option but CCB and LED I drove it for 14 months and put 28k on it, I could not tell you how many dealerships said no. I went to 10 and could not get more than 55k lol, so I dropped it at carmax and they gave me 60.800 ... Car ended up in Georgia sold to a dealership, and I watched them CPO it and try to get 73k for it, which it didn't it sat for almost half a year and finally went off their page when it was dropped to 61k lol

It's beautiful. Don't fret about the price, just enjoy it. Love the wheels.

If you can afford it without doing financial harm, and are just spending more than you want, then, yes, it is a good deal. The stuff you really want always costs more than you really want to spend. Just keep it well maintained, and use it in good health.

Being four months old and 8k miles and $16K off and some aftermarket goodies seems like worth doing. I'm concerned about the competition package and may post a thread about it being TOO firm. California roads suck.

I'd make sure it had the break in service done, just as a CYA.

Purdy car!

congrats, enjoy the car and at the end of the day it doesn`t matter how much you paid for it or what it will be worth down the road.
What matters is that you enjoy every moment when you are driving the car. Life is too short enjoy.

It's a great looking car, very well optioned, and certainly at a price that doesn't require you to look back.. Enjoy your new M3 - it will be very enjoyable to drive.

No, but it's all opinion. Have you seen them in person? I've heard many people say they dislike them online, but love them in person.

I am completely with you. It's not only the looks. Unless you live in an area with very good roads these 20'' wheels are going to be a pain to own IMO. I am already having problems with my 19'' getting bent on my 550i due to potholes.

Having said that, for 2017 models they allow a no-cost downgrade to the 19'' 437M wheels as an option with ZCP.

I have seen the 20's in real life and I vastly prefer the black 437m (19's). It was a smart move for BMW to allow people to option the 437m's in lieu of the 20's.

An X6M 3 years later drops to 50k. The MSRP is a lot higher than the M3. Personally I would look into a used X6M as you get a more versatile vehicle as fast as the M3 and stops like the M3. It just eats more gas.
