I'm looking into 2011 or 2012 BMW M3. I want the final model year as it will be the final naturally , high revving M3 that we will see for awhile. The lease on my 328xi coupe ends in about a year and 1 month, I will be commuting to and from school, it's about an 45 minute drive. Is it possible? Gas won't be a problem, I'll be cruising highway most of the time anyway. How's the M3 for a daily driver? Will I nee to push it around town? Does it have enough torque for a daily driver? Any input is absolutely appreciated.
Someone nailed it and it should be the selling point (since we all know M3 is better than your average 3 series - yes parts are similar in design - but engineered to be far superior as far as driving dynamics are concerned)....
That selling point is "last of the high revving M3's" - soon to be turbo charged liquid cooled boost monsters... but still not the same they will be missed
P.S. Congradulations!!!~
And for reds, imolaII~!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes the Melbourne look very dull in comparison..

I wonder if they're going to up the HP on the next gen M3? Since it's turboed the TQ increase is a given but what about the HP? If they up the HP to 450 - 500 for the next gen M3 then will the 3 series get 400hp?
Congrats on the forthcoming M. Perfect configuration in my opinion. I saw fox red extended for the first time in a long time this weekend, and it looked much better than I originally remembered. I really liked it. I'm very jealous of your ED -- wish I had the time for such vacations.
Well another one bites the dust. I ordered my M3 today. Now I get to join you in the wait. Thanks for everyone's input as it helped quite a lot.
The plan is for a April production and June delivery. I didn't go ED as the timing wasn't good plus in Canada there are NO discounts for ED.

With only one payment left on my 550i, I just leased a 2010 M3, Jerez Black w/ Fox Red. MSRP is $71,375, got it down to $65,155. Worked out a 36 month lease, 15K per year. Even got the dealer to pick up the last lease payment on my 550i outright, not building it into the new deal. I'm stoked, now I better go out and get a Valentine!
Picked up a lot of great info on this thread, thanks everyone.

No DCT, I've had the Sport Auto on my 550i and never liked the paddle shifters. Plus, this will be a year-round drive for me, I'll buy 18's and snows in November. I figure the 6MT will be more fun anyway.
Jerez Black
Fox Red Leather
Cold Weather
Premium Package
Tech Package
19" wheels
Anti-theft
iPod / USB Adapter
Enhanced Premium Sound

Sycamore Anthracite trim
I would have preferred Carbon Fiber Trim and Back-up sensors, but with the deal I got, I'll manage.
