Hi

I have a 2009 F01 740i and I'm wondering if it's possible to retrofit the electronically pivoted tow hitch and if there's any programming required and what parts I need.

Thanks!

I have no answer to this, I'm curious as to what you (or anyone) would tow with a 7 series?

Theres one made by German company G.D.W.

Link to distributor Bertelshofer HERE

I was actually considering this to tow a Jet Ski, but since I don't have an X-Drive, I don't want to risk turning my 750i into a 5600 lb anchor. ;)

I speak it fluently if you're in dire straights... :)

@jgbackes

Jeff how did you do this
I purchased a "GDW towbar part # 1828T30" from "Transportsysteme24 GmbH" and had it installed by a local trailer shop.

It came with a European ball mount, but the install used a band saw to hack that off and replace it with a standard 1 1/4 receiver.

The tow-bar was about $800, the installation was $300

good luck

jeff
