I feel as if the list keeps compounding with this car. 2001 330ci
Current list:
1. Radiator has a very small pinhole on the plastic end so since the car has 130k on it I will be replacing he whole system.
2. Majority of the bushings in the rear cradle are shot and need to be replaced soon. Also the flex disc is dry rotten and cracked so that will be replaced as well as the carrier bearing.
3. CCV is leaking at some point causing a funky idle in colder temps and creating a small amount of suction at the oil cap.
Now I know the rad needs be done soon but what kinda priority should I be putting on these cause its just a lil irritating and pricey.
But on a brighter note the struts, cabs, rtabs, vanos, vcg, disa, p/s pump, tie rods, and control arms are new. So after its all done she will be almost brand new again lol
j_schroeder, I am in a similar boat. I recently replaced quite a few suspension components
Koni yellows shocks and struts, rogue Engineering RSM, M3 RTAB with Vorschlag limiters, and quite a bit more. Now there is a creaking noise when I turn my wheel, most of my window regulators are shot, and my sunroof is going to cost $2,000 to fix.
But then I remember exactly what FastBob posted... So we just need to suck it up then save up
I am glad that I can turn a wrench for sure making it drastically cheaper. But I just want to get opinions on how I should prioritize the next couple jobs.

I know what you mean. I have two to maintain. MAF sensor yesterday on the 323I (P1188/P1189 codes) and today pulled the ICV on the 330 to clean it due to rough idle. They do have 212k and 149 k miles respectively so hard to complain too much and definitely beats car payments, most months
I see you did not mention rear dif bushing? oh sorry, but you need one of them too.
I already have the bushing along with a flex joint and carrier bearing I'm just in the process of buying new subframe bushings and reinforcement plates.
My rule of thumb is always this when a list of things comes up to fix and I can't do them all right away.
1. What keeps the wheels on and me safe. So suspension related things and brakes.
2. what keeps the car running, this includes engine and drive train. I go in order of what hinders them the most and what can cause more problems by not being fixed.
3. things that bug me. An intake boot crack would go in this category makes and annoying whistle but not usually that savaging to the engine(can be though.)
4. Cosmetics
Just some advice that you can do what you want with but if you cant tell your self when something on the car has been replaced I would replace them in the order I just listed. However it looks like you are doing a great job at keeping up maintenance from what you listed above.
Short suspension horror story.. My friend had a wheel hub going out in his 2001 cummins and ignored it for the better part of a year. lucky I wasn't with him when it went and he slammed off the road into the woods.

Well... after replacing all necessary pieces there might be some while to catch deep breath before beginning second round.
What i try to do with mine is always replace parts with good quality pieces so that wouldn't have to do same again very soon.
Oh and TannerT made fine list but ofcourse those can still go to subcategories...
Like for example risk of wheel falling off should be taken more seriously than something which only makes car handle bit funny,
but if you don't know the difference yourself then just take his list as it is.
Either way it's always good to fix what's broken, before it made next part to break also.
I have replace everything with oe quality or better, and I am glad I have and will continue to do so. It does make it a little easier knowing my suspension, driveline, and cooling system will be good for the next 100k or so.
I just changed my fuel filter while changing the oil yesterday and man what a difference. My idle picked up appx 100rpm or so and throttle response has improved. The drain pan that I emptied the filter into was black with 130k worth of deposits.
Has anyone had experience with the Stewart water pump? I'm leaning towards it die to he revised design and higher flow. Opinions?
Thousands of things on an e46 that have to work right, and hundreds of items that need maintenance regularly.
And you've got to treat your wife nice every day!
Do both or everything falls apart.
