Spoke with Jags Gill, owner of ECU Tuning Group (http://ecutuninggroup.com/company-profile). He said if there's enough interest he'd create a plug-n-play module that would raise the speed limit to >200mph without programming the ECU. According to Jags, the benefit over fiddling with the DME / CAS modules is that it wouldn't void the warranty.
Anyone interested? If so, what would you pay? If the demand is high enough I suspect the price wouldn't be too high. As a reference point, his Stage 1 tune (also using a plug-n-play module) is $2495.
lol the benefit is that nobody can crack it and tune it, so this is the only option lol... If it was like the N54 that opinion would change is my guess.
I'd need to actually see it on cars working properly before I bought in.
The real problem is you can get the speedo above 155.. I do it constantly but you aren't actually going any faster if you maintained that speed for a long period of time the car would at some point correct itself to 155, so even if he made a video showing the speedo you'd not know if the car was actually despeed limited.
yeah video, picture confirm would be meaningless. I could post one now going WELL over it but thats frown upon.
