Anybody knows a good collision shop in the Queens Long Island area of New York that has a good reputation for doing a good job on BMW's? I need to replace my scratched up rear bumper. I went to RALLYE BMW COLLISION and their estimate was $1098 parts and labor. Any thoughts? Please help!!!
Its matte black. $580 is $130 less than their quote. Their bumper is $710 plus labor and tax totaling $1098. You think it would be safe to buy it at getbmwparts.com then have a shop install it?
I have the same problem. But I'm lucky my father in law is in the autobody business. Anyway I saw a new bumper for sale at partsgeek.com for around $200.00 if that helps.
IMO, you want OE parts...not sure what partsgeek is selling.
It is "safe" to have a shop install the parts, but DO keep in mind that if you supply the part and it doesnt fit right they shop can say "Hey, not our fault- it was your part"...and they CAN say this even if THEY screw it up! You are then stuck finding yet another shop to prove the first scrwed up. The liklihood of this scenario increases that harder you shop for a budget shop!
Conti Auto Body in Syosset NY has always done right by me.
