I have a question for you big boys. I have a 2013 328i M sport with a 6 speed manual. I am disgusted to find out that my new car has not only a clutch delay valve that makes the car lurch and hesitate if you drop the clutch under hard acceleration but also a rev limiter (to about 3700rpm) at a stop. Do M cars have these "features" also? Thanks.
E9x M3 do not have CDVs in them, really awesome 6MT on them. However my old E46 M3 -did- have a CDV even though the service manual claimed it didn't. Had it removed at the dealer, took him like 15 minutes of labor, I highly suggest you do the same. The CDV makes even the most experienced 6MT drivers look like noobs...
AFAIK there is no standing-rev-limiter on the E9x (though I haven't tested because I can't rev past 5000rpm or so yet, due to break-in period) -- my old E46 did not rev-limit unless it was cold.
No on CDV, yes on rev limiter (8,400 RPM when fully warmed up. When the engine is cold, the redline starts lower and builds up as oil temperature increases.)
